At SwipeTally, we take your privacy extremely seriously. SwipeTally is a utility designed to help couples and families audit shared credit cards, track joint expenses, and detect subscription drift. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service.

2. Information We Collect

To provide our financial auditing features, we collect the following types of information:

  • Identity Data: When you sign in using Google Identity, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture to create and secure your user profile.
  • Financial Transaction Data: If you connect bank feeds via Plaid, we retrieve transactional metadata (merchant name, transaction date, amount, category). We do not store or see your bank login credentials.
  • Receipt Data: If you upload receipts for itemization, we process receipt image data using secure AI models (such as Google Vertex AI) to parse purchase details.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data solely to deliver and improve our transaction reconciliation services, specifically to:

  • Authenticate your account and verify access permissions for your shared family ledger.
  • Match statement charges with uploaded receipts and flag duplicate or incorrect fees.
  • Identify recurring subscription cost drift and notify you of pricing changes.

We will never sell your personal or financial data to third-party advertisers or data brokers under any circumstances.

4. Data Security and Isolation

Your financial data is hosted on enterprise-grade infrastructure. We secure data isolation using isolated schemas in Google Cloud Spanner, and encrypt all data in transit (using HTTPS/gRPC-Web SSL) and at rest. Access to the backend requires cryptographic authorization via Google Cloud IAM verified JSON Web Tokens (JWT).

5. Your Rights and Deletion

You have full ownership of your data. You may request the complete deletion of your SwipeTally account and all associated transaction records at any time by contacting us at support@swipetally.com. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days, resulting in permanent erasure from our databases.
